The laidback Australian lifestyle was the inspiration for the Waterfall stool. The Waterfall is warm and inviting yet displays a layer of sophistication for those with eyes to see it. A veteran bushwalker once commented to me that the shimmering grain of the golden Victorian blackwood in a Waterfall stool reminded him of a high-country trout stream.
A fine stool should be an invitation to sit. It’s the easy comfort of the Waterfall Stool that makes it so appealing.
Featuring through-wedged-tenons and a flowing ergonomic seat, the strong and light Waterfall is at home in both contemporary and traditional houses. The Waterfall stool is often the first piece of our work that a client owns. It’s through the Waterfall that many people come to appreciate the pleasure a well-designed and finely crafted piece of furniture brings to a house.
Woodworkers have always appreciated the Waterfall Stool. The design won it’s first award in 2004 at the Sydney Timber and Working with Wood Show. Since then, the Waterfall Stool has been the subject of articles, videos and even a podcast. We really aren’t sure how many Waterfall stools we’ve made since it was first launched in 2001, but it’s over two thousand.
